The Hoptown Hoppers were able to get their first win of the season in their last game against the Paducah Chiefs, but they were not able to start a win streak in their matchup against the Fulton Railroaders on Wednesday evening.
Railroaders pitcher Grant Baskin allowed just one run and had five strikeouts in six innings of work, and he was the driving force in the 4-1 win for Fulton.
Gavin Powell made the start on the mound for the Hoppers, and pitched five innings with three strikeouts. John McGee also came in and allowed just one hit in the three innings that he pitched.
The one run that the Hoppers scored came off of a single from Cole Reynolds in the bottom of the fifth inning.
JJ Thompson, Dominick Bello, Carson Tucker, Konnor Scheidt, and Gabe Eddington had the other hits for the Hoppers.
Hoptown will be looking to get back in the win column in their next game on Thursday, June 12, against the Henderson Flash. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Bosse Field in Evansville, IN.
