Full Count Deals Madisonville 6th Straight Loss 14-6

The Madisonville Miners trimmed a 5-0 deficit to 5-4, but an eight-run inning helped the Full Count Rhythm seize control of the contest.

Full Count went on to beat Madisonville 14-6 Monday night in Ohio Valley League baseball action in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Now 8-5, the Rhythm is a half-game behind the Henderson Flash (7-3) in the OVL standings. Henderson was rained out on Monday.

Meanwhile, Madisonville has lost six straight games after starting the season 5-1. The Miners have slipped to fifth in the six-team circuit.

Cliff Wysinger went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs at Full Count. However, Madisonville pitching struggled, allowing 14 earned runs on 12 base hits while issuing 11 free passes.

For Full Count, Blake Carter and Trace Simmons each homered. Simmons gave the Rhythm a 2-0 lead with a solo shot to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning. Carter had a three-run blast to left as part of an eight-run fifth that put Full Count up 13-4.

Madisonville will play at home on Tuesday against first-place Henderson.

Full Count travels to Paducah on Tuesday.
