Gavin Powell grew up in Hopkinsville attending the summer Hoptown Hoppers skills camp as a kid. Now, the Hopkinsville High graduate wears a Hoptown Hopper uniform.
Powell will head off to Rend Lake College in the fall and is using his summer in the Ohio Valley League as a trial run for acclimating to college baseball as a freshman.
