Hoptown Hoppers’ Offense Propels Team Past Henderson Flash

dsc07072-2

The Hoptown Hoppers went into their game in Wednesday evening against the Henderson Flash looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses, and that is exactly what they were able to do.

Owen Boswell made the start on the mound for the Hoppers and pitched 5.1 innings. He allowed two runs, but only allowed two hits on his way to getting three strikeouts. He was a key in Hoptown being able to get a 9-2 win.

Hoptown struck first on a sacrifice fly from Konnor Scheidt in the top of the first inning, who then singled in the next inning to score two runs. In the third, Chance Sweeney hit a solo shot, and then Gabe Eddington and Aidon Butts both hit singles to make it 6-0.

Owen Hutcheson then hit the second home run of the game for the Hoppers, this time a two-run shot in the fourth. Zach Hampton then singled on a line drive to score the ninth and final run for Hoptown.

The team’s other hits came from Kolby Webb and Myles Denton.

Hoptown will be looking to start a new win streak in their next game on Thursday, June 26, against the Madisonville Miners. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Christian County High School in Hopkinsville, KY.
