The Madisonville Miners had lost four straight games going into their game on Monday evening against the Henderson Flash, and they were able to bounce back well with a solid win.
Caden Wooldridge made the start on the mound for the Miners, and pitched 7.1 innings. He had a spectacular outing, as he only allowed three hits and one run on his way to racking up 12 strikeouts.
The Miners’ first run of the game came in the form of a double in the top of the third inning from Nazhir Bergen that scored two runs. Coulter Hamilton then singled in the top of the fifth, followed quickly by a double from Jonathan Early, which gave the team a 4-1 lead.
And that was enough for the Miners to secure the win.
The team’s other hits came from Pete Britton, Noah Berning, Dominic Maldet, Dylan Toler, and Ian Cartwright.
The Miners will be looking to start a win streak in their next game against the Paducah Chiefs on Tuesday, July 1. This will be the first game in a double header, and first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. from Madisonville City Park. The next game will come right after.
