Cathryn Brown followed her sophomore season at the University of Kentucky with a state women’s amateur championship last month. The former Lyon County standout looks to qualify for next month’s U.S. Women’s Amateur on Tuesday at a qualifying event at the Old Fort Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The top finishers will advance to the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, to be played at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon from August 4-10.
Brown had a 73.3 stroke average through 27 rounds and nine tournaments for Kentucky this past season with two top-10 finishes and three top-20 finishes.
