The Hoptown Hoppers went into their game on Monday evening against the Henderson Flash with their first three-game win streak of the season. Unfortunately, they were not able to extend that streak to four games.
Clark Gries was on the mound for the Flash, and was able to pitch seven innings. He allowed just two runs on his way to five strikeouts, as he was a key in his team being able to get the 10-3 win.
As for the Hoppers, Heath Henley made the start, but was not able to have as much success. He pitched five innings and allowed seven hits on seven runs.
The Hoppers struck first in the top of the second inning when Myles Denton singled to left field. Their second run came in the sixth from a Jordan Carter groundout, and their third and final run came from an Aidon Butts single in the top of the ninth.
But the offense of the Flash proved to be too much, as they were able to hit a pair of big home runs in the game.
The Hoppers will be looking to bounce back in their next game against the Madisonville Miners on Tuesday, July 15. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Madisonville City Park.
