The Hoptown Hoppers now find themselves with their backs firmly pressed against the wall. Four Full Count pitchers combined to allow the Hoppers just three hits as the Rhythm took a 7-1 win in the first game of their best-of-three OVL semifinal series.

The Hoppers will try to keep their season alive Wednesday night as they host the Rhythm in a must-win game at Christian County High School.

Full Count took the lead Tuesday night with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed for the rest of the night.

The Hoppers cut into the lead in the top of the second when Tyler Casserly drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs to make it 2-1.

Full Count got that run back in the bottom of the third on a wild pitch to push the lead back out to 3-1.

The Rhythm then erupted for four runs in the bottom of the 8th to put the game away. Pitching struggles were huge for the Hoppers in the inning as three of the runs scored on bases-loaded walks.

For the Hoppers, Dominick Bello, Owen Hutcheson, and Myles Denton had one hit each for the night.

The Hoppers’ pitching gave up only five hits but did have 8 walks in the contest.
