Round one of the Ohio Valley League Playoffs between the Hoptown Hoppers and the Full Count Rhythm has come to a conclusion, and it was unfortunately the end of the road for the Hoppers in the 2025 season.

The Rhythm were able to get four runs in the top of the first inning to begin the game, and that was a big key in them being able to grab the 6-3 win and take the series two games to none.

Gavin Powell made the start on the mound for the Hoppers, and was able to pitch 5.2 innings. But in those innings he allowed 10 hits and six runs, as he was never really able to find consistency against the hot Rhythm offense.

Hoptown got their first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning when Dominick Bello doubled, which was followed soon after by a home run from Chance Sweeney that made it 4-2.

While Myles Denton was able to hit a single to get another run in the seventh inning, it was not enough, as the Rhythm had already built up a lead.

The Hoppers other hits in the game came from Cole Reynolds, Owen Hutcheson, and Grady Broughton.

While it was not the outcome that the team may have wanted, it is hard to deny that this was a fun season for the Hoptown Hoppers and all of the fans who support them.
