Rylee Teague scored four goals, and Addi Wall added a hat trick of her own as Marshall County defeated Trigg County 8-0 in a girls’ soccer scrimmage on Tuesday at Josh Nichols Field in Cadiz.

Wall scored twice in the first 10 minutes, and the Lady Marshals scored three goals in a three-minute stretch to take a 5-0 lead at halftime. Teague scored twice, and Hadley Bynum added a left-footed shot just before the break.

Teague scored twice in the second half, and Wall ended the match in the 61st minute with a header in front of the net to trigger the mercy rule.

Marshall County graduated four seniors from last year’s 20-5-1 team that advanced to the second round of the state tournament.

We played great competition to prepare ourselves for the season that’s coming up,” Trigg County coach Jason Hite said. “They have a lot of great athletes, and they move the ball very well. Those are all things that we need to prove upon, and

they showed a lot of that tonight.”

Trigg County, which was 15-6-1 last year, will play at Clarksville Northeast on Thursday in its final preseason scrimmage.
