The Lyon County soccer team faced off against Paducah Tilghman on Thursday evening in what was their final scrimmage before their regular season starts, but they were not able to stand up to the red-hot offense of the Blue Tornadoes.
Tilghman scored four goals in the first half, which gave them all of the momentum they needed to keep it going in the second half and win the game 8-0. The Lyon County defense was never able to fully figure out their opponent, with goalkeeper Will Dunning tallying three total saves in net.
Paducah Tilghman was able to score enough goals in the second half of the game to end it due to mercy rule in the 65th minute.
This was Lyon County’s final scrimmage, as they will begin their season on Monday, August 11, against Caldwell County. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
