
The Turmero twins each had a hat trick as the Caldwell County Tigers pulled away for a 10-2 victory in season-opening action at Lyon County on Monday.
Kale Turmero added three assists and Colin Turmero had two as the Tigers beat their border rivals for the fifth straight time.
Lyon still leads the all-time series but, after years of chipping away at a deficit, Caldwell has pulled to within 33-32-3.
Anderson Duarte-Garcia had two goals for the Tigers while Sebastian Cowen also found the net.
The game ended with an own goal, giving Caldwell an eight-goal advantage in the 78th minute.
It was Lyon which netted the first goal of the night in the 7th minute.
Joao Colares de Menezes scored on a blast from outside the corner of the box into the opposite side of the net to give the Lyons the early lead.
Caldwell tied the game on a penalty kick by Colin Turmero in the 8th minute.
Duarte-Garcia chipped a shot over the keeper in the 11th minute to give the Tigers the lead.
Kale Turmero scored off a Duarte-Garcia assist in the 32nd minute.
Cowen got his goal in the 34th minute to make it 4-1.
Lyon got some momentum late in the half when Colares de Menezes punched home a loose ball in the box to cut the gap to 4-2.
The second half, though, belonged to Caldwell, with each Turmero adding two more goals and Duarte-Garcia picking up his second tally of the evening.
Grayson Harris was credited with 10 saves in the Caldwell net.
Caldwell will play at home for the first time on Tuesday when they welcome Webster County to Butler Stadium.
Lyon hits the road for the first time on Thursday to face Hopkinsville.
