Two late goals turned out to be the difference for the Henderson County Lady Colonels. Henderson broke a 0-0 tie with those late game scores to take a hard-fought 2-0 road win over the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons Monday night.
The Lady Maroons dropped the tough decision despite getting more shots on goal than did the Lady Colonels by a margin of 10 to 6, and Henderson being charged with more fouls on the evening, 12 to 8.
The Lady Colonels’ goals came from Mckinley Black and Baylee Womack.
With the win, Henderson County improves to 3-0 on the season. The Lady Colonels have outscored their opponents 8 to 1.
Madisonville-North Hopkins drops to 1-1 with the loss. The Lady Maroons are set to be back in action Thursday evening when they host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
