Coming off a tough 5-set loss in Monday night’s season opener, the Hopkins County Central Lady Rebels were back in action Tuesday night, hosting McLean County. Much like Monday night, this one was a tough battle, but this time it went in favor of the Lady Storm.
After dropping the opening set, Central came back and won the next three to take the four-set win over the Lady Cougars.
McLean County opened with a 25-22 win to go up one set to none.
Instead of thinking ‘here we go again’, the Lady Storm ‘dug’ in and started battling their way back. Hopkins County Central won the second set 25-22 and then took the third set 25-20 to go up two sets to one in the match.
Nothing changed in the fourth set as the two teams went toe-to-toe with the Lady Storm closing out the match with a 25-21 win in the set.
Aalycia Stringer had a big night for the Lady Storm with 5 kills, 5 assists, and 5 blocks. Izzy Gunn added 6 kills and 8 service aces.
Calajia Mason finished the night with 3 kills, 5 digs, and one service ace.
Hopkins County Central improves to 1-1 with the win. The Lady Storm will be back on the court Thursday night when they host Todd County Central.
