
The Todd County Central Lady Rebels will get the chance to play for the 4th Region All A Classic championship for the fourth consecutive year. The Lady Rebels advanced on to the title game with a 2-0 win at Monroe County Saturday.
Saturday’s match was scoreless into the second half when Jaidyn Holland finally broke through to give the Lady Rebels a 1-0 lead.
Shelby Rios then effectively sealed the win for Todd County Central when she scored in the last 5 minutes of the game.
The Lady Rebels got a very big day from Katelynn Cortes. Cortes, playing in goal for Todd County Central, finished the match with 8 saves and had her first shutout game as a goalkeeper.
The win was the first of the season for Todd County Central and moved the Lady Rebels into the 4th Region All A Classic championship match, which will be played September 6 at Foundation Christian in Bowling Green. The Lady Rebels will play the winner of the match between Russellville and Clinton County.
Up next is a trip to Franklin Tuesday to take on the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats in a 13th District contest.
