A tough start to the Apollo Summer Slam Down for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons Friday night. The Lady Maroons ended up going 0-2 in their first two matches of the event.
The Lady Maroons opened play against 3rd Region opponent Breckinridge County. The Lady Tigers, who entered the weekend at 4-0, took a straight set match, winning 25-8 and 25-8.
Madisonville’s second match of the night was against 4th Region power Logan County. The match was a tighter battle but still belonged to the Lady Cougars in straight sets. Logan won 25-16 and 25-19.
The Slam Down continues Saturday in Owensboro.
