Jensen Nolte’s first career hat trick helped Trigg County fire the first salvo of the 5th District soccer season as the Wildcats picked up a 5-1 win at Lyon County on Tuesday.
The junior more than doubled his season goal output in Tuesday’s match, as Matthew Choate did the same with two goals.
Corben Woodall and James Garnett had the helpers for the Wildcats, who have allowed one goal or less in seven of their eight matches this season.
Kamden Garrie had the goal for the Lyons, his fourth in the last two games. Justin Hicks made nine saves in goal for Lyon County, who fell to 1-9. The Lyons will play at Mayfield on Thursday.
Trigg County (4-4) will host Lyon County on Monday as they look for the season sweep in the two-team district.
