
The Hopkinsville girls’ soccer team seems to be hitting its stride at the right time with the postseason right around the corner. The Lady Tigers shut out visiting Lyon County 4-0 on Tuesday to make it three wins and a draw in their last four outings.
Kaydon Coats provided the scoring punch with a hat trick to take her season goal tally to 27. Kaylynn Schwartz added the other goal for the 9-8-1 Lady Tigers.
Grace Cansler and Lila Jorgensen provided assists, and Jaleigha McFarland made 10 saves to collect her fourth shutout of the season.
Hopkinsville will be back on the field at the Stadium of Champions on Wednesday to close out the regular season against Union County.
Lyon County slipped to 4-11-2 and is winless in its last five matches. The Lady Lyons travel to Caldwell County on Thursday before opening district tournament play on Monday.
