Fort Campbell Bests Hopkinsville in Three Sets

The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and Hopkinsville Lady Tigers volleyball teams faced off on Tuesday evening, and it was Fort Campbell who was able to get the win and extend their win streak to seven games.

This means that the Lady Falcons have won the last six matchups with the Lady Tigers, and Hopkinsville’s last win was back in September of 2023.

The first set was a close one that saw Fort Campbell come out on top with a score of 26-24. The second was also fairly close at 25-21, but the outcome was the same, as the Lady Falcons won the set. And the third and final one was a runaway, as Fort Campbell was able to take their momentum and win 25-11.

Some of the keys in the Lady Falcons 3-0 victory were D’Lyla Melton and Baylee Backes, who led the team in kills with seven apiece. They were set up for the most part by Makayla Galvez, who led the team in assists with 26.

As for the Lady Tigers, Madysen Taggart led the team in kills with eight, Alayna King led in assists with nine, and Kyleigh Weber led in digs with six.

They will be looking to bounce back in their next game on Monday, October 13, against the Lady Colonels of Christian County. The game will be Hopkinsville’s second-to-last game of the regular season, and will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Christian County High School.

As for the Lady Falcons, they will be hoping that they can extend their win streak to eight games in their next one also against Christian County on the road on Tuesday, October 14. Their game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
