Georgia OL Tyreek Jemison is No Longer a UK Commit

It might be a bye week for Kentucky but the Wildcats still took a big loss.

Georgia three-star offensive lineman Tyreek Jemison decommitted from Kentucky. He had picked UK over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and others in June. He has 45 scholarship offers with national signing day about two months away.

The 6-foot-5, 335-pound Jemison is considered a top 600 national prospect and top 50 offensive tackle nationally. He was one of the gems in UK’s recruiting class but the Cats’ struggles again this season obviously convinced him to look for another school.

Jemison told Rivals.com that he had the “best relationship” with UK offensive line coach Eric Wolford of anyone on the UK staff when he committed.

“He played the game of football and his passion is very relatable to mine. It lights the fire in me,” Jemison told Rivals.com. “I love coach Stoops because of his passion for the game and the way he spent time with me every day. He also showed me that I was his number one guy. He showed it in many ways and proved it to me in many ways on my official visit.”

However, that “fire” Jemison had for UK is now out and he no longer wants to be coach Mark Stoops’ “number one guy.”

Another highly regarded offensive tackle, Jarvis Strickland of Paducah Tilghman, flipped his commitment from Kentucky to Louisville not long after Vince Marrow left UK for Louisville.

Kentucky now has 14 commitments and ranks 44th nationally, 14th in the SEC, with this recruiting class.

  1. He looks like a real hoss who is really needed to boost UK in the trenches.

UK 14th rank in SEC recruiting.
15th & 16th must have had their roads & internet down due to storms.

If an OL recruit likes the HC & OL coach as much as he said, then he must be pretty sharp to not let it blur his view of the overall UK FB program which is dead last in the SEC and still sinking even lower!.

  2. Penn State showed they are serious about winning giving James Franklin $49 million to leave town. I guess Kentucky has resigned itself to being a bottom of the SEC team for the next 6 years. Does that mean we have to change our name to Vanderbilt?
