Christian County battled Henderson County early in their Class 6A 1st District matchup on Friday.
The southern Colonels led 8-7 in the first quarter and were within 20-14 in the second period.
But, ultimately, six turnovers proved too much to overcome as Christian saw host Henderson pull away for a 67-29 triumph.
Jack Dalton ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns for Henderson and also threw a touchdown pass.
Kieran Cole rushed for another 102 yards on just six attempts as Henderson (4-3 overall, 1-0 district) rolled up 339 yards on the ground while finishing with 411 total yards.

Christian (1-6, 0-1) had its moments, though — especially early in the game.
Tom Johnson hit Darius Finch with a 25-yard touchdown toss midway through the first period. Tristan Dillard ran in the two-point conversion to put Christian in front 8-7.
Henderson countered with a 16-yard TD scamper by Dalton, then got an 18-yard scoring run from Anzerion Marigny to go up 20-8.
Christian got back within 20-14 following a 31-yard scoring connection from Johnson to Finch, who caught a deflected pass downfield and raced into the end zone. That came with 9:19 left in the second quarter.
But Christian could never draw even again.
An 86-yard kickoff return by Zyon Wharton had Christian still within striking distance, 34-22, late in the first half.

However, Henderson struck again with just 44 seconds remaining to get to the break with a 41-22 advantage. That came when Dalton hit Jack Ryan Reusch with a screen pass that turned into a 42-yard touchdown play.
Henderson then blew the game open after the break with four touchdowns that stretched the margin to 67-22. The northern Colonels reached the mercy rule for a running clock in the third period.
Christian snagged one final highlight when Harris broke free for a 47-yard tochdown run with just under 5 minutes to play.
Christian had 264 total yards, with 159 of that on the ground.
For Henderson, Avant Baxter had a 41-yard touchdown reception and also had two interceptions. Jack Logan caught a 13-yard TD pass and had a pick. Kingston Shidler and Jonathan Langley each had TD runs.

Henderson will visit the Stadium of Champions next week to face Hopkinsville.
Christian will travel to McCracken County next week.
