Caldwell Wraps Regular Season with Win at Union

Caldwell County’s girls will carry a 15-10 record into the postseason after capturing a 3-1 victory Thursday night at Union County.

The Lady Tigers got off to quick start while claiming the 25-9, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 decision.

Chevy McGowan led the attack with 13 kills, nine digs and an ace.

Kylee White totaled seven kills, 36 assists, nine digs and three aces. Troy Freeman had seven kills, a block, two digs and five aces. Med Thomas had seven kills and one dig.

Caldwell also got six kills and a block from Laylay Shearer. Grace Watson recorded four kills, three blocks and three digs.

Mycah Riddle added 19 digs and three aces. Tink Clark had a kill, 14 digs and five aces. Maddie Cooper had eight digs and four aces.

Caldwell will host the 7th District tournament Monday and Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers will face Hopkins County Central in the lone semifinal contest on Monday at 6 p.m.

The winner advances to face Madisonville-North Hopkins in the championship match on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
