Mayci Moore drew the curtain on a stellar cross country career on Saturday with a top-10 finish at the Kentucky Beef Council Class 2A State Meet in Lexington.
The Webster County senior finished in seventh place with a clocking of 19:33 over the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park.
For Moore, it was her third straight top-20 finish at the state meet (she was 15th last year and 11th in 2023), and she never finished worse than 31st in five state meet runs.
Eighth grader Paisley Stone also had a top-20 finish for the Lady Trojans. She ran a 20:37 to come in 20th place. She finished 24th at state as a seventh grader last year.
While Webster County graduates its lead runner in Moore, their next five runners, like Stone, are middle schoolers.
Eighth grader Alli Bell came in 66th place in 22:38, and seventh grader Emmalein Canterberry finished in 102nd place in 23:45.
Seventh grader Brylee Benson finished 126th in 24:40, and seventh grader Ellie Littlepage came in 148th place in 25:22.
Eighth grader Adelynne Utley finished in 160th place in 25:58.
Webster County also bagged a top-10 team finish with 292 points, just 11 points behind Region 1 winner and seventh-place Calloway County.
