
For the third time in four years, Lyon County has brought home the region runner-up trophy from the KHSAA Region 1 Cheer Competition. The Lady Lyons will advance to the state competition Dec. 12-13 at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester.
Lyon County finished second in the All-Girls Small Division, scoring 56.60 points. They finished three points behind region champion Trigg County.
The All-Girls Small Division is required to have at least five cheerleaders competing, but no more than 15.
Since sanctioning cheer in 2012-13, Lyon County has never finished worse than third place in the All-Girls Small Division and won a region title in 2013.
Lyon County will also be making its third trip to state in four years. They were 15th in the All-Girls Medium Division last year.
