Lady Wildcats Wrestle to 7th Place at Ohio County

Trigg County’s girls came in seventh place at the Ohio County Lady Eagle Wrestling Classic on Saturday.

Makenna Hendricks took second place in the 185-pound class. She needed just 41 seconds to win her first two matches by pin and won her semifinal match over Caldwell County’s Virginia Stewart 10-0.

However, she lost to unbeaten Aralynn Bobbitt of Nelson County in the championship match.

Avagayle Lingenfelter came in second place in the 235-pound class. She won her first three matches by fall, but lost in the championship match to Caldwell County’s Damari Harris.

Alani Mayes came in third place in the 152-pound class. She dropped her quarterfinal match but came back to win three straight by pin. She also won her third-place match by pin in two minutes and five seconds.

Bryonah Mayes went 2-2 in the 185-pound class.

Loralei Stephens went 1-2 in the 145-pound class.

Brianna Rice went 1-2 in the 235-pound class.

Skylar Novosselov went 1-2 in the 165-pound class.

Also wrestling for Trigg County was Hallie Ray Cannon in the 145-pound class.

Trigg County finished in 7th place as a team with 70 points. They were two points ahead of 8th-place George Rogers Clark and 27 points behind 6th-place Ohio County.
