The Lyon County Lady Lyons used a long-range attack Tuesday night to rebound from their first loss of the season over the weekend. The Lady Lyons unleashed 11 3-point shots on Livingston Central as they clawed past the Lady Cardinals 88-49 in Smithland.
Five different Lady Lyons connected from behind the arc as Lyon County improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in 5th District play.
Livingston Central got most of their points from the outside as the Lady Cardinals hit 9 3-pointers of their own.
Lyon County settled this one early. Piper Cotham scored 12 points in the opening quarter as the Lady Lyons bolted out to a 26-9 lead. The lead grew to 49-26 as the teams went into the break.
Trinity Taylor came out of the half and had a 13-point third quarter as Lyon County pushed the lead out to 70-40 after three.
Lady Lyon reserves saw extensive action in the fourth quarter as Lyon County pulled away to the 39-point win.
Trinity Taylor led Lyon County with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Piper Cotham added 25 points, 9 rebounds, and four steals. Courtney Collins chipped in with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman Lily Coffman ended the night with 11 points, including three made 3-pointers, and 4 rebounds.
Livingston Central was led by Taylor Leahy with 16 points and Brooklyn Collins with 14.
Lyon County will be back in action Saturday evening when the Lady Lyons host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
