The Todd County Central Rebels basketball team went into their game against Allen County-Scottsville looking to snap their three-game losing streak. Unfortunately they were not able to do that, and they went down 67-56 on the road.
The Rebels were able to get the best of Allen County the last time the two teams faced in February of 2024, but they were not able to extend their win streak against the Patriots to two games.
The first quarter started out in favor of Allen County, and they were able to outscore Todd County 18-8. The Rebels were able to make a few threes in the opening period, but it wasn’t enough to keep up as the game started.
That was not the case in the second, and it saw the Rebels outscoring the Patriots 14-12 behind six points from John Ross Cardwell in the quarter. This led to them being down just 30-22 going into the halftime break.
Todd County was able to score 16 points in the third period, and a big part of it was Connor Holder and Hunter Johnson combining for 10 of the 16. But the Patriots’ offense was able to really get it goin, scoring 24 points and making three shots from beyond the arc in the quarter.
Lane Thomas was able to get the Rebels’ offense going in the fourth with 8 of their 18 points, and they were able to outscore Allen County by five. But it was not quite enough to get the win, and they went down 67-56.
Cardwell led the Rebels in scoring with 14 points, and Thomas and Holder also contributed double-digit points.
They will be looking to snap their losing streak in their next game on Friday, December 12, against the Falcons of Fort Campbell, who are 2-2. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Fort Campbell High School.
