
Caldwell County put a bow on its pre-Christmas schedule with an 84-63 win over Allen County-Scottsville.
Daelyn Lander hit five 3-pointers and poured in 30 points as the Tigers beat the Patriots for the first time ever Tuesday afternoon at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Pax Aikins added 18 points, Kese Wilson 14 and Jack Roach 10 for the Tigers, who will take a 4-3 record into a brief break.
Caldwell is back on the court this weekend, playing three games Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the Ballard Memorial Christmas Shootout.
Allen County-Scottsville led 18-17 after one quarter on Tuesday before Caldwell edged ahead 37-33 following a tightly-contested first half.

But the second half belonged to the Tigers.
Caldwell stretched its lead to 20 points, 62-42, on a three-point play by Lander with 2:38 left in the third quarter.
The Patriots trimmed the margin to 66-52 entering the fourth quarter, but Caldwell reestablished its big lead in the final frame. The Tigers led by as much as 22 points on the way to the 21-point triumph.
Allen County-Scottsville, which had been 5-0 all-time against Caldwell, was led by Braden Spears and Tyler Turner, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively. Aiden Granger added 12 points and De’Ante Grainger had 11.
Caldwell and ACS had not met in the regular season since Feb. 1, 2003, although the Tigers did see summer action in Scottsville this past offseason.

Both Caldwell and Allen County-Scottsville will next play in the Ballard Memorial Christmas Tournament on Saturday. The teams are in opposite brackets and would only potentially meet in the final round on Monday.
The Tigers play Union County in first round action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Patriots play the previous game at 3:45 against Fulton City.
