The Todd County Central Lady Rebels basketball team was still in search of their second win of the season in their game against St. Mary at the Murray Bank Classic. They were unfortunately not able to get it, and they went down to the Lady Vikings 57-47.
The Lady Rebels were down just three points after the first quarter, but it was the second where they dig themselves into a bit of a hole.
They scored 11 points in the quarter, but the Lady Vikings were able to put up 23, getting to the rim seemingly at will. This led to Todd County Central being down 35-20 going into the halftime break.
The Lady Rebels scored 11 points again in the third quarter behind five from Aziyah Tandy, but this time the Lady Vikings scored just 15 instead of having over 20.
Daymea Garrett was able to get hot in the fourth quarter and score eight points with a make from three-point range. But it was not enough to dig out of the hole, and the Lady Rebels fell 57-47.
This was the fourth time that these two teams have faced off, and it was the first time that St. Mary has gotten the best of Todd County Central.
Despite the loss, the Lady Rebels can take one thing positive from this game, and it is the fact that this was the second-most points they have scored in a game this season. It is only behind their win against Dawson Springs where they scored 55.
The leading scorer for Todd was Garrett with 15, eight of which came in the fourth and final quarter of the game. Chloe Collins and Tandy were both also able to score in double-digits with 10 points apiece.
The Lady Rebels will play their next game at the Murray Bank Classic against the Trigg County Lady Wildcats on Tuesday at 10 p.m. at Murray High School.
