The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors faced off against Fulton City in the Hickman County new Years Bash on Friday evening. Unfortunately they were not able to get their second win of the season, as they lost to the Bulldogs with a score of 64-51.

The Warriors scored 12 points in the first quarter behind six from Noah Arvin, but it was not quite enough to keep up with the 16 that Fulton was able to put up in the first eight minutes of the game. The Bulldogs also had a couple players that were able to reach the six point mark in the quarter.

After that, Heritage Christian definitely slowed down in the second quarter, scoring just nine. With Fulton City scoring 12 in the period, this led to the Warriors being down 28-21 at halftime.

Arvin score another six in the third after the break to lead the Warriors to another 12-point quarter, but the Bulldogs were able to keep growing their lead with 15 points.

And the fourth was really where Fulton was able to come alive, as they scored 21, which was the highest total scored by either team in the game. HCA did their best to keep up with 18, but it was not enough to prevent the eventual 64-51 loss.

Arvin led the Warriors in scoring with 18, and he did so by getting to the paint consistently and converting. Nathan Wheatcraft scored 10 with a couple of threes, and Aaron Hensley was able to score nine of his own.

This was the first of two meetings between these two teams in the month of January, and the Warriors will be looking for revenge on the Bulldogs when they face off on the 24th.

But for now, Heritage Christian will be focused on getting the win in their next game against the host team of the New Year’s Bash, Hickman County. The game will be played on Saturday, and is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
