The Todd County Central Lady Rebels went into their game against East Robertson at home on Saturday still looking for their second win of the season. Fortunately for them, they were able to complete their mission and get the 44-30 victory over the Lady Indians.
The Lady Rebels were able to get off to a very hot start in the first quarter, outscoring East Robertson 16-2. Daymea Garrett led the team in the period with seven points, and four other players for Todd were able to score.
But they were not able to continue that dominance in the second quarter, as the Lady Rebels scored just five points in the period. Despite that, Todd was still able to take a 21-11 lead into the halftime break.
The Lady Indians continued to struggle on the offense end in the third quarter with just six points, and the Lady Rebels were able to capitalize with 10. They were led by Chloe Collins, who had five points in the quarter.
After that, all it took was the Lady Rebels matching East Robertson’s 13 points in the fourth for Todd to close out the game and take the victory 44-30.
While they did not score as many points as they might have wanted to, the Lady Rebels will be glad that they did get their second win of the season out of the way.
Garrett led Todd County in points with 15, while Collins and Kathryn Ballard each contributed eight points apiece.
The Lady Rebels will be looking to put together a win streak in their next game against Clinton County on the road on Monday, January 5. The game will be played as part of the All “A” Classic, and will tip off at 6 p.m.
