Receiver Xavier Daisy announced his departure from Alabama-Birmingham after two years and transfer to Kentucky on social media in consecutive social media posts on Wednesday, within a few minutes of each other.
After playing in the American Conference for coach Trent Dilfer, a former NFL quarterback, Daisy is heading to the Southeastern Conference. The 6-foot-3 receiver had 18 catches for 177 yards in 2025 after playing in 10 games with one start in 2024.
Kentucky has also hosted recruiting targets Malcolm Simmons of Auburn and DeAndre Moore of Texas, two of the top-rated receivers in the transfer portal.
Not long after Daisy committed to Kentucky, freshman receiver Cam Miller put his name into the transfer portal Wednesday morning. He had 13 catches for 141 yards in six games — for unknown reasons, it took the UK staff until midseason to play him — and he will have three years of eligibility left.
Miller was a four-star recruit out of New Jersey and a top 500 recruit nationally. He chose UK over offers from the likes of Michigan, Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Syracuse. He had three catches for 41 yards in his collegiate debut against Georgia.
A couple of hours after Miller put his name into the transfer portal, Hardley Gilmore did the same thing. The Florida receiver played at UK in 2024, transferred to Nebraska, and then came back to UK for the 2025 season.
He was Kentucky’s second leading receiver last season with 28 catches for 313 yards and one touchdown. He had six receptions for 153 yards and one score in 2024 as a true freshman.
Previously, receivers David Washington, Preston Bowman, and Montavin Quisenberry all entered the transfer portal.

Don't understand these receivers leaving. They have a better chance to catch passes at UK now than they ever did under Stoops. Hate losing Miller and Quisenberry.
I think Quisenberry is one that Stein would find multiple ways to get him the ball.
Its really a head scratcher. Weve had 5 guys leave Kentucky and go to Louisville. I know Marrow was the main recruiter for these guys, but guys like Steven Soles going to Arkansas? Bateman actually blitzes his linebackers more than anyone in the SEC. If I'm a linebacker I wouldn't want to play in a zone defense. That's not fun. I woild want to chase the QB. Also Quisenberry,Gilmore and Cam Miller make no sense whatsoever to go to Louisville? If I'm a QB or wide receiver or tight end I want to play for will stein. What makes absolutely no sense is that they wanted to play for Stoops? Who is happy to throw the ball under 20 times a game? But don't want to play for Stein who wants to throw it 30 plus times a game? Boley leaving because he didnt want to compete for the starting job? We only have about 3-4 receivers left on the roster. I only think DJ Miller is left. Honestly DJ Miller has the best size and upside out of all the receivers. Hopefully he stays. Quisenberry surprises me going to Louisville who didn't even want him because Brohm said he was to small. Well these guys Louisville has gotten has gone 0-2 against Louisville and lost by a combined 78-14 the last two years. I say Good riddance. If you don't want to compete for a starting spot hit the road. So far our offensive line has been upgraded and our defense is going to be terrific. We need a couple more offensive lineman and some more playmakers.
I think we are paying a price for Stein not physically being here and now it appears we are losing Strey, our best returning 4* OL, and missing out on a couple of 4* targets. Stein/Sloan will definitely feel the pressure here as last year's OL no longer.
With all these Kentucky players switching uniforms and going to Louisville they might as well hire Stoops as the defensive coordinator at Louisville. They have plucked most of our transfers. It's not shocking to me. Louisville has taken over Kentucky as the best team in the state in both basketball and football. It's not even close. We got destroyed in back to back years in football. This year will probably be the third In a row. Basketball Kelsey is much better coach than Pope. I've said it 100 times already. Kelsey had to prove himself before getting a upgraded job. Pope got the job because he won a championship here in 1996. What kills me is he never made a run in the tournament as a coach. He never had a couple of great seasons. His best season was here last year. He might not ever get back to that level again. There is a reason recruits are signing with him besides JMI. He's a crybaby. He's a corn puff . A corn ball. He tries to use all these techniques with numbers and lineups and analytics. That doesn't win games. It's great to know if your a fan watching. The head coachs job is to get the players and get them to improve. So far this hasn't happened. Its basketball and when you get to technical you get lost in the shuffle. Always remember this is a kids game. Yes there are plays you run on offense and defense but at the end of the day it's just basketball. The name of the game is to put the ball in the basket. When you have a bunch of good defensive players you have to blend them with offensive players. You can't just play the best 8 defenders and hope they score points. For someone so smart he's actually very stupid when it comes to understanding basic common sense. Why does he play the guys that he plays. I would cut Aberdeen it's clear that him and Oweh don't like each other. So why play them at the same time. I seen Aberdeen wide open for a 3. Did Oweh pass the ball? Heck no he took a contested shot that he was being guarded by Aberdeen's man and his. He looked right at Aberdeen. Yes they would have probably air balled but you cant have guys like this on the team and expect to win. I would boot Aberdeen and keep Oweh. Oweh was here first and is better than Aberdeen. I said when we got Aberdeen he was trash and we wasted a scholarship on him. That I didn't trust him it's almost like he's a spy for Florida. Grew up a Florida team. Won a national championship there and was going to start this year. He leaves to basically play less? So it was just avout the money ? Why would you want someone like him on your team. He's clearly here for self accolades and money. That's not good for the chemistry of the team. I would play Johnson/Oweh/Williams/JQ/Moreno. My backups would also be set in stone. LOWE/ Chandler/ Noah/Mo-D/ Jelavic. Aberdeen and Garrison would be the odd men out. I would also take the redshirt off of Hawthorne and play him a little because he's supposed to be a gamer. When the lights come on he performs. How does Pope have 14 players one true point guard and he doesnt know who to play? Shows he's in way over his head. This the most talented roster he's ever coached and can't do nothing with it. Get your shooters the damn ball and let them shoot. Chandler, Noah, Williams, Jelavic, and Hawthorne should shoot over 20+ three pointers combined between them every game. I'm so tired of seeing Aberdeen and Mo-D and Oweh shoot 3s they are terrible shooters
Got a little off course on football.
