
The Todd County Central Rebels faced off against Franklin-Simpson at home on Friday night. They were unfortunately unable to get their fourth win of the season, as they went down in a close 64-63 game.
The Rebels got off to a solid start, scoring 18 points in the first quarter compared to Franklin-Simpson’s 12. Todd was led in the quarter by Jayden Glass, who scored eight points with a pair of threes.
But the second quarter is where the Wildcats’ offense was able to come to life’s they outscored the Rebels 22-17.
Glass was once again able to lead the team in scoring with eight in the quarter, but it was not enough to keep the Wildcats from cutting the Rebels’ lead to just one going into halftime. 35-34
Todd County got hot from three in the third period with five made shots from beyond the arc. But on the other side, the Wildcats were able to get to the rim at will and outscore the Rebels 20-17 in the quarter.
Todd Central went into the fourth down just two points, but they were only able to score 11 to Franklin-Simpson’s 10, getting back just one point. This led to a heartbreaking 64-63 loss in what could have been their fourth win of the year.
Glass led the Rebels in scoring with 25 points, and he did so with seven made shots from beyond the arc. John Ross Cardwell, Spencer Pool, and Noah Rager were also able to get into double-digits.
This is now the fifth time in a row that Franklin-Simpson has gotten the best of Todd Central. The Rebels will be looking for revenge when they match up once again with the Wildcats on January 30.
But for now, Todd will be focused on getting their fourth win of the season. Their next opportunity to do that will be on Tuesday, January 13, against Greenwood on the road. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
