
After being outscored by 14 points in the opening frame on Tuesday at Greenwood, Todd County Central couldn’t dig out of the early hole in a 67-45 loss to the Lady Gators. The loss is the third-straight for the Lady Rebels, while the Lady Gators have won four of five to improve to 7-8.
Molly Spidel led the first-quarter charge with eight points for Greenwood, while Ava Morrison added six to build a 21-7 advantage. Daymea Garrett knocked down a pair of threes in the second for the Lady Rebels, but the Lady Gators got seven points from Anzlee Hendrix to extend the lead to 36-18 at halftime.
Kathryn Ballard got going with 17 of her game-high 22 points in the second half for Todd Central, but it was too little too late to lead a comeback.
Ballard was the lone Lady Rebel in double figures while the Lady Gators had three double-digit scorers. Hendrix led the way with 18, followed by Spidel with 16, and Molly Tandy with 11. Ja’Mya Kay returned from injury for the Lady Rebels, scoring seven points in her season debut.
Todd Central slipped to 2-14 ahead of a trip to Logan County on Friday.
