A career-best 37 points by Daelyn Lander helped Caldwell County finish off a regular-season sweep of Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday.
The Tigers used a 30-point second quarter and a 31-point fourth quarter to subdue the Maroons 89-70 at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Madisonville will get a third shot at Caldwell in the 7th District tournament later this month at Hopkins County Central. As the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, the Tigers and Maroons will square off in a semifinal tilt in the district tourney.
Madisonville (3-17 overall, 1-5 district) got off to a good start Tuesday, opening up a 14-9 lead after one period.
But Caldwell (10-9, 4-2) grabbed the upper hand in the second quarter while taking a 39-32 advantage to halftime.
The Tigers seemed to have things well in hand in the third period while pushing the margin to 11 points.
However, the Maroons battled back to within two at 48-46, before another Caldwell burst put the home team up 58-49 entering the fourth quarter.

The Tigers extended the margin in the final frame to pick up the 19-point decision.
Lander had five 3-pointers as part of his big night. After failing to score in the first quarter, the Caldwell junior pumped in 17 points in the second period. He had eight more in the third and 12 in the fourth.
The Tigers also got 15 points from Pax Aikins and 13 from Dayton Wilson. Kese Wilson had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jack Roach added 11 points.
Madisonville got 25 points from Lake Sumner and 18 more from Orion Underwood. Jeremiah Lewis finished with 11 points.
Sumner hit five 3-pointers and Underwood had four as the Maroons buried 14 shots from behind the arc. That’s the most ever for a Caldwell opponent.
The Tigers ended a 21-game losing streak to the Maroons earlier this season when they won in Madisonville 75-58.
Madisonville still leads Caldwell 95-13 all-time.

The Tigers’ win Tuesday, coupled with the Lady Tigers’ victory in the opener, gave Caldwell its first girls and boys doubleheader sweep ever against Madisonville.
The Tigers will return to action on Thursday with a trip to University Heights Academy.
The Maroons are scheduled to host Paducah St. Mary on Thursday.
