The Hopkins County Central Storm went into their game against Webster County having won their last three games, and two of the three of them were by double-digits. Unfortunately for them that trend did not continue, and they lost 80-74 to the Trojans.

This is now the ninth time that Webster has beaten Hopkins Central in the last 10 times they have faced them. The only win the Storm have been able to get in that time frame was in December of 2024.

The Trojans are now 9-1 at home, with their only loss at Webster County High School so far this season being to Henderson County. And not so coincidentally, they are currently first in the Region with a 16-4 overall record and 6-0 record in regional games.

Meanwhile for the Storm, they are now 12-6 after the loss to the Trojans, and their record in games against fellow Region 2 teams is 9-4.

The team’s next chance to bounce back will be against Greenwood on Saturday, February 7. The game will be played at Lyon County High School as part of the Akridge Ace Jam, and will begin at 3:30 p.m.
