Gude Tops 1,000 Career Points in Trigg Win Over HCA

Trigg County used a 16-2 second-quarter run to grab Saturday’s game with Heritage Christian Academy by the horns and take a 66-28 win at Wildcat Gym.

The Wildcats turned eight turnovers in the quarter into 11 points as Davaree Gude and Landon Swann combined to score all 20 of Trigg’s points in the frame as the Wildcats built a 40-15 lead at halftime.

Gude knocked down a corner 3-pointer with 1:50 left that pushed him past the 1,000-point mark for his career, becoming the 28th Wildcat to accomplish the feat.

The senior guard scored a game-high 24 points and added nine steals, seven rebounds, and seven assists to his stat line. Landon Swann knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.

The Wildcats shot 43% from the field and held a 37-26 advantage on the glass.

Cadyn Travis led Heritage Christian Academy with nine points and four steals, and Noah Arvin added eight points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors will host the Russellville Raiders homeschool team on Monday and play at Fort Campbell on Tuesday.

Trigg County will close out district play at Livingston Central on Monday and travel to Caldwell County on Tuesday.
