Hopkins County Central’s Alex Ray made his second straight trip to the first round of the state swim meet Saturday at Bowling Green. Ray had two solid efforts, including knocking off a significant amount of time off his regional performance in the Boys 100 Yard Backstroke, winning his heat in the event.
His time in the backstroke was 57.97, nearly two seconds faster than his regional effort.
In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Ray swam a 55.21, which placed him 8th for the event. His 55.21 was a new personal record.
He spoke with YSE after the boys were done for the day.
