
The Christian County Lady Colonels forced visiting Murray High into 25 turnovers on Friday night while holding the Lady Tigers to single-digit scoring in each quarter on the way to a 55-20 blowout victory.
Looking for their third win in four outings, the Lady Colonels shut out Murray in the opening quarter, with five points from Genesis McGee helping them to a double-digit advantage.
Four Lady Colonels scored four points each in the second quarter to outscore the Lady Tigers 18-8 for a 21-point halftime lead. Mayla Smith scored seven of Murray’s eight points and finished with 10 for the game.
Carlie Hobson put up five points in the third for the Lady Colonels, and Carliah Hobson added four in the fourth to see out the victory. McGee led all scorers with 15, Carliah Hobson also reached double figures with 11, and Carlie Hobson pulled down 12 rebounds to go with seven points.
Christian County improved to 10-9 ahead of a visit from Warren Central on Saturday. The Lady Colonels have won the last four in the series with the Lady Dragons.
