Caldwell County used a different method to defeat Trigg County for a second time in four days on Friday.
The Tigers set a school record with 15 three-pointers on Tuesday in a 96-60 win over the Wildcats in Princeton, shooting 55% from the field and scoring 16 points off steals.
Another school record may have occurred for Caldwell County in its 80-58 win in Cadiz. The Tigers had 19 steals off 24 Trigg County turnovers and scored 32 points off the mistakes. Pax Aikins unofficially had 10 steals. According to Todd Griffin, Brian Harris holds the school record of nine steals set in a 2004 win against Fort Campbell.
Caldwell’s aggressiveness also showed up on the glass, where the Tigers had 20 offensive rebounds that led to 18 second-chance points. To break it down further, Caldwell missed 46 shots but rebounded their own missed shot on 45% of those.

The Tigers took control of the game with a 16-3 first-quarter run that saw the Wildcats hit just one field goal in a nearly four-minute stretch. The Wildcats had 10 first-quarter turnovers, and the Tigers scored 10 points off them while taking 16 more shots in the quarter.
Caldwell pushed the lead to 17 points by halftime and to 30 late in the third quarter on a Daelyn Lander bucket.
Aikens hit four of Caldwell’s eight 3-pointers and finished with 28 points and seven assists in addition to the 10 steals.
Markese Wilson added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Lander had 16 points for the Tigers.
Landon Swann led the Wildcats with 23 points and seven rebounds. Davaree Gude added 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals for Trigg County.
The combination of Tiger offensive rebounds and Trigg turnovers resulted in Caldwell getting up 25 more shots and making nine more field goals.
The Tigers also held a 39-33 advantage on the glass and outscored Trigg 48-32 in the paint.

Caldwell County (14-12) has won six of nine games and six straight against Trigg County. The Tigers have three road games next week – Monday at Christian Fellowship, Tuesday at Webster County, and Thursday at Calloway County.
Trigg County (7-19) has dropped four straight games and will host Ballard Memorial for senior night on Monday. The Wildcats will close the regular season on Tuesday at Christian Fellowship.
