The Lyon County Lady Lyons had just won a tight road game against Hopkins County Central going into their home matchup with Mayfield. Lyon was able to take advantage of their home floor and get the win over the Lady Cardinals 59-32 on Saturday evening.
This is now two straight meetings between the two teams that has gone the way of the Lady Lyons, as the last win Mayfield was able to get over Lyon County was back in February of 2023. Their last one before that was all the way back in 2012.
Mayfield’s win streak was also snapped in the game, as they had won four straight entering their road game against the Lady Lyons. Despite that fact, that have still won six of their last eight games.
As for Lyon, they are now 21-6, and hold the top spot in Region 2. They will be hoping that they can get a win streak going as their regular seasons winds down over the next few days.
Their next game will be on Monday, February 16, against the Lady Cardinals of Livingston Central. That game will top off at 6 p.m. at Lyon County High School.
