Big numbers were the order of the night as the Lyon County Lady Lyons pulled away from Livingston Central 82-56 Monday night in a 5th District makeup date at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.
Trinity Taylor had 22 points and 15 rebounds while Courtney Collins had 16 points and 20 boards as Lyon swept the regular-season series with Livingston.
In addition, Piper Cotham had 19 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Lyons while Jenna Coursey scored 18 points and grabbed six caroms.
The win was the 22nd of the season for Lyon against only six losses. Lyon is 4-2 in district play.
Meanwhile, Taylor Leahy tallied a game-high 31 points for the Lady Cardinals, who tried to hang with Lyon early but wore down late. Leahy buried five 3-pointers as part of her big night.
After trailing 7-0 out of the gate, Livingston came back to grab a brief 9-8 lead.
But the Lady Lyons responded, opening up a 29-12 lead after one quarter.
Livingston, though, crept back within 39-30 at halftime.
The Lady Cardinals (7-17, 0-6) then got as close as 39-32 out of the halftime break.
But Lyon answered with 10 straight, going up 49-32 on a 3-pointer by Trinity Taylor at the 5:03 mark of the third quarter.
The Lady Lyons led 59-40 through three periods and pushed the final margin to 26 points.
Lyon’s girls will play at home again on Tuesday when they host Union County. The Lady Lyons conclude regular-season play on Thursday when they host Paducah St. Mary for Senior Night.
Livingston will go to Mayfield on Thursday before finishing the regular season at Caldwell County Friday night.
