
Every time Trigg County made a run at Ballard Memorial, the Lady Bombers had the answer as they capped their first visit to Wildcat Gym with a 46-36 win on Monday.
Ballard Memorial pushed its four-point second-quarter advantage to 25-15 by halftime and consistently kept the Lady Wildcats at bay in the third quarter, as the lead held between 8 and 13 points.
Alexis Mayes knocked down a baseline jumper with 4:53 left to get Trigg to within 36-31. However, four Lady Bombers scored as part of an 8-0 run to push the lead back up to 44-31.

Ballard Memorial proved to be more efficient from outside the arc (7/16) than inside (6/17) and hit 13 of 16 at the free throw line.
Trigg County, which hit six 3-pointers in a Saturday win at Apollo, was just 1 of 10 behind the arc on Monday.
Veyda Grinols led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points and five rebounds, while Alivia Norwood added nine points. Cali Jones had five points and 12 rebounds.
Ballard Memorial (18-9) got 16 points from Gracee Beere, who hit four of the Lady Bombers’ seven threes. It was Ballard Memorial’s first trip to Wildcat Gym. The Lady Bombers have won three of the four career meetings with Trigg County.
Trigg County (11-13) will host Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday.
