Christian County went into their Monday evening matchup with Owensboro having won their last four games, and fortunately for the Colonels, their win streak did not stop there. They were able to take advantage of their home floor and get the tight 54-51 victory over the Red Devils.

Jay Henderson and Zyon Wharton combined for 10 points in the first quarter, which led the Colonels to 15 total points in the period. And four each from Henderson and Rahsean Stevenson led Christian County to have 28 points at the half.

Thirteen points is what the team also ended up with in the third and fourth quarters. Stevenson was the driving force in the third with nine points, while Henderson and Wharton once again scored five each to lead the team in the fourth.

And while this is not the most points the team has finished a game with this season, it was enough to beat Owensboro and get Christian County their fifth win in a row.

The Colonels are having a great season in their final year as a program, and that is indicated by the fact that this is the first time sine the 2017-18 season that the team has gotten five straight wins.

Christian County has also now taken two of the last three games that they have played against the Red Devils.

Stevenson led the team in scoring with 17 points, getting to the rim at will and getting his buckets in the paint. Henderson and Wharton also both got into double-digits with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

They will be looking to help lead the team to their sixth straight win in their next game on Tuesday against the Rebels of Todd County Central. The game will be played as part of a double-header and will also be senior night. It is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Christia County High School.
