The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons went into their matchup with Trinity on Monday evening looking to snap their losing streak and end it at just two. Unfortunately they were unable to do that, as the Lady Raiders made the most of their home floor and got the win 54-42.

This was just the fifth time in just over the last 25 years that the two teams had faced off against one another, and Trinity has now taken only two of them. The other three have gone to the Lady Maroons, with the last time they won being in February of 2019.

Monday night’s win was the Lady Raiders’ third victory in their last four games, and their only loss in that span was to McLean County on the road. They now have a record of above .500 as a result of this win at 14-13.

As for Madisonville, they have now dropped their last three games, with their last win being to Ohio County on the road in double overtime. The Lady Maroons now have a 10-13 record and sit at seventh place in Region 2.

The team has three games remaining in the regular season, so they will be looking to make the most of what they have left and end the year on a good note.

They will get their first chance to do just that in their next game on Tuesday against the Lady Rockets of Crittenden County. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
