Dane Miller is looking to close a pair of chapters in the Christian County wrestling book in the coming weeks as the postseason begins this weekend.
The Colonel senior will look to defend his region championship in the 144-pound class on Saturday at the Region 1 Tournament at Henderson County.
Dane has already matched his win total (38) from last year, when he placed sixth at state. Another podium finish is high on his list, but he knows he has to get there first.
Dane burst on the region scene as a sophomore, winning four of five matches at the region tournament and finishing third in the 132-pound class.
He just missed a podium finish at state, but got there as a junior last year when he became the first Colonel wrestler in three years to win a region title.
The storied Christian County program will ride off into the sunset in just a couple of weeks, as Hopkinsville and Christian County High combine later this year and with it, means a new program. Dane is hoping to send it out on a high note with a strong finish.
In this YSE interview, Dane remembers what drew him to the mat and the support system that drives him to succeed.
