Hopkins County Central kept fighting and found a way to win a hard-fought battle on the road against Union County, 56-49, on Friday night.
The Storm and Braves traded momentum throughout, with neither team able to build much separation. Hopkins County Central carried slim leads at the end of each quarter in what felt like an even matchup from start to finish.
The Storm created just enough breathing room in the fourth quarter, outscoring Union County 14-10 over the final eight minutes to secure the victory.
Neiland Bruce led the Storm with a game-high 15 points. Devontae Jagoe added 12, and Samari Pettus finished with 11, giving Hopkins County Central three players in double figures and steady production across the lineup.
Union County also placed three players in double figures. M.J. Patterson led the Braves with 11 points, while Gavyn Black and Jace Wilson each added 10, but the Braves couldn’t generate enough offense late to close the gap.
