After a senior season that saw him earn both All-District and All-Region honors, Trigg County goalie Cam McCormick has committed to continue his soccer career at Brescia University in Owensboro.

McCormick anchored a Trigg County defense that put together one of the best defensive seasons in program history. Trigg allowed just 21 goals – tied for the third fewest in school history and three away from the school record.

The team also allowed just 1.4 goals per game, which was seventh best in program history.

Three of Trigg’s losses were by 1-0 scores, with the season ending with a 2-1 loss in the region tournament to eventual champion University Heights Academy.

McCormick averaged seven saves a game and 1.4 goals per game. As a junior, he averaged 10 saves and 2.4 goals allowed per game.

Brescia is a familiar place for McCormick’s coach, Kyle Bleidt, who played his college soccer there after graduating from Trigg County.

McCormick is Trigg County’s sixth man on the basketball team, a sport he came out for as a senior. In this YSE interview, he discussed his decision to play soccer at Brescia and basketball as a senior Wildcat.
