Dane Miller will have the distinction of being the final state medalist for the Christian County wrestling program.
The Colonel senior took eighth place in the 144-pound class at the KHSAA State Wrestling Championship on Friday in Lexington.
Miller faced Andrew Pomeroy of Male, who was eighth at 138 last year, in his final match on Friday. Miller took the lead with a takedown with 40 seconds left, but Pomeroy scored a takedown of his own with 10 seconds left to claim the match and seventh place.
Miller finishes the 2025-26 season with a record of 34-8 and a two-year record of 72-16. He also reached the podium at state last year, finishing sixth.
Miller lost to eventual state semifinalist Chance Mills of Madison Central in the second round on Thursday and battled back to win three straight matches – all by decision.
He lost to Moore’s Kalob Wise, who finished in fourth place, by a 7-0 decision.

DeAsian Harris won a pair of matches in the 190-pound class to advance. After losing his opener, he came back to win two by decision. In his final consolation round match, he was trailing Henry Morales of Dixie Heights 6-4 with less than 30 seconds remaining. Harris and Christian County coach Dee Leavell thought Harris gained control through a reversal and possible takedown. However, the points weren’t awarded, and Harris’ season ended with a 30-15 record.
Deacon Harrison opened with an 11-10 win over George Rogers Clark’s Brock Heidle, scoring in the final seconds to complete the comeback.
However, he lost his next two matches in the 157-pound class and finished with a 26-8 record.
Treshawn Crenshaw lost his opener in the 285-pound class but rallied to beat Lexington Christian’s Jamison Dunn 13-4 in the consolation round.
He met Union County’s Austin Cummings in the second consolation round in a rematch of last week’s Region I tourney. The outcome was the same as Cummings scored a pin and the win. Crenshaw finished his season with a 27-10 record.
Paul Abren (19-11) won a match in the 150-pound division, and Brodie Smith made his state wrestling debut in the 175-pound class and went 0-2.
As a team, Christian County placed 46th with 19 points.
