
Senior pitcher Andrew Mayes has announced he will continue his baseball career at Rend Lake College after committing to the junior college and planning to sign on Friday afternoon.
Mayes transferred to Christian County High School following a standout run at Hopkinsville. As a sophomore, he posted a 7‑3 record with a 1.81 earned run average, striking out 65 batters in 62 innings of work. During his junior season, he went 3‑6 with a 1.80 ERA, with 53 strikeouts in 58 innings pitched.
Rend Lake College is a two‑year public community college located in Ina, Illinois, and its athletic teams — known as the Warriors — compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 24.
